okay so like. im not big on assigning masc/fem labels to ppl. i think its kinda limiting, esp when it just ends up reinforcing gender roles we're trying to break away from. like, ppl should be able to wear whatever they want and express themselves however they want without it needing to be "butch" or "femme" or anything else

as a gridoc and xtho enjoyer I have a suggestion:

Both couples have been together for a pretty long time. Neither are very open about it though, just by preference. At first it was kind of unintentional but at some point someone started keeping track of how many times Xisuma and Etho had accidentally dropped a hint that they’re together and then grian and doc got added and it’s spiraled since then.

so imagine some hypothetical hermit just chilling in the shopping district. and they end up starting a conversation with Xisuma and Etho. And say ethos like ‘yeah and when I was cooking Xisuma dinner last night’ and from like 6 feet away iskall, who had previously been sitting on a bench unnoticed, whips out a chalkboard from an unknown location. And then several seconds of panic gesturing go on (well, etho and Xisuma are , iskall seems pretty calm to be honest) before Iskall gives a sad expression and the chalkboard disappears (where is he putting an entire chalkboard??)

grian and doc have been crushing it since s10 started. Xisuma and Etho were decimating them for the entirety of the buttercups thing in s9 tho

(additional thing: another couple ends up on the blackboard without their knowledge as a sorta putting a random guy in the Olympics to show how good the Olympic athletes are thing)

No pressure for the Anti Keefe Sencen Rant 2-I know it's going to be absolutely delicious and chef's kiss if you take the time you need and then release it. I'm so looking forward to it. No pressure, though, I swear!

Uh this was meant to be like a comforting and motivational post at the same time. Seriously, just feel good ok

don't worry . . . this seems comforting and motivational. the secret project is sucking up all my kotlc-stuff time currently, but i'll likely be able to go back to the rant after i finish that (why am i always working on something kotlc-related . . . )

anyway. since you seem eager and i'm apparently handing these out like hershey's kisses, have yet another excerpt from the part two rant (i posted one already, in case you haven't seen it). subject to change and being cut and whatnot but. whatever:

“The pounding didn’t mean anything, by the way. That’s why he didn’t bother mentioning it. Of course he had a headache! His mom had just tried to kill him—again!” (541) What in the logical fallacies is this???? Just because you know what caused your headache, doesn’t mean it will magically go away???? I’m so genuinely confused as to what Shannon is attempting to achieve here. Is she trying to make us annoyed with Keefe? Keefe then proceeds to refuse good medical advice for over twenty pages. In case you thought he grew or developed at all from the Nightfall incident.

“Okay, fine—he wasn’t in the mood to hear about all of the mistakes he’d caused everybody to make, because his brilliant plan had turned out to be a little less-than-brilliant.” (543) In case you think this is character development, it’s not. Keefe is only sorry that he caused them to make mistakes, he’s very noticeably not sorry that he screwed over the entire plan by doing the one thing everyone told him not to do, which is what he should be sorry for. He’s not sorry for his arrogance in thinking the group would need him. When I first heard that Unlocked was going to be told half from Keefe’s perspective, I thought we would get an explanation for why (because, like I said, the reason he gives in Legacy for coming to Loamnore makes no sense at all). Why did he come to Loamnore, even when specifically warned not to and agreeing? I was super intrigued and thought Shannon would surprise us with a very specific reason. But I guess my standards were too high because this book does not talk about Loamnore at all past this chapter and the next. That’s literally it. Certainly, we don’t get a specific reason as to why Keefe decided to throw a good plan down the drain and override it with his own. It’s like Shannon completely forgot about the last book’s climax’s consequences.

“Apparently, he shared the Really-Bad-at-Scheming gene with his mom.” (543) His mom’s not bad at scheming, though. Not even close. (At least, not until some . . . choices were made in Stellarlune.) Keefe’s bad at scheming. Keefe. Not this mom. Keefe. Let me remind you that he threw away the entire point of his side’s plan when he showed up at Loamnore, even though he fully knew what his mom was trying to do. Meanwhile, his mom has been thoroughly, intricately, and meticulously crafting and refining her plan for years. Keefe rushes into everything with no thought. Gisela’s actually a pretty good planner. But again, Keefe is so arrogant that, to this day, he still underestimates his mom, even after she’s gotten the better of him time and time again. You’d think he would’ve stopped being stupid and learned by now . . . 

“Though . . . maybe if she hadn’t had to do that, his mom wouldn’t have escaped. There was no way to know, so it was probably better not to wonder about it.” (544) Keefe just . . . brushes right past what should be a serious stop-and-think moment for him. He, once again, hijacked a shared plan and ruined it because . . . genuinely, I do not know. Like I said, I thought the reason Keefe gave at the end of Legacy was a cover-up for some deeper reason he didn’t want to tell Sophie that would make it all make more sense, but that’s not at all true. Anyway I’ll shut up about that now and talk about this quote. Keefe should be doing some serious reflection right now. Again, if you think he developed from the Nightfall scene at all, I hope you can see why it’s very clear he didn’t learn anything of actual value. He just said what Sophie wanted to hear and they breezed past it. He did not actually learn or change from that scene. Once again, he refuses to blame himself for problems that are actually his fault, yet beats himself up over ones that aren’t. Those false problems are then used to attract a great deal of pity. If Keefe truly believed that he messed everything up, he would not have come to Loamnore and, get this, messed everything up. How are we, the audience, supposed to believe that Keefe feels guilty over everything and beats himself up over everything when he just instantly brushes past something that was one hundred percent his fault? Why is he only ever guilty over things that aren’t his fault, like his mom? It’s to attract sympathy for him without actually putting him in the wrong. 

“He just had to keep fighting and remember that the defeats they’d suffered were . . . mostly a timing issue.” (544) Here, Keefe tries to rationalize his way out and excuse himself of the blame by telling himself it wasn’t his fault. Which is just not true. A lot of the defeats they’ve suffered are a direct result of Keefe’s actions. Here is a list of the things he has screwed up: compromising Alluveterre, giving up his blood, freeing Alvar (which probably wouldn’t have mattered, given the whole Lumenaria thing, but Keefe didn’t know that at the time), being wrong several times about the Neverseen going after Grady and Edaline, giving up the caches and bringing back fakes, giving Sophie the tracker that led the Neverseen to her and Fitz, and now showing up at Loamnore when he was forewarned with good reasons not to. I bet you forgot about at least half this list, because the narrative gives so little accountability to Keefe that large, devastating setbacks are quickly and easily forgiven by the other characters without Keefe facing a modicum of actual consequence. He simply throws a pity party, Sophie wrongfully reassures him none of it’s his fault, and they move on. Once again, I would have no problem with Keefe deflecting the blame off of himself if it was treated as a character flaw by Shannon and if it was more consistent, but neither of those are applicable to Keefe. As for the part where he says he just needs to “keep fighting” . . . oh please, no. Please. Please stop fighting. Please stay out of everything, ever. You would do everyone on your side a massive favor.

I’m not copying down the whole quote, because it’s like three paragraphs, but there’s a brief description of the four (4) elixirs that Elwin made Keefe drink to help him feel better on page 563. So what he’s been fighting for over twenty pages is something that took about a minute to do. He would’ve been free to go immediately if he’d just taken his goddamned medicine. Instead, he had to throw a temper tantrum like a toddler. This is what I mean when I say he’s infuriatingly stupid. How did he not realize that taking his medicine would get him out of the Healing Center faster and less painfully than whining like a pathetic brat? (Okay, so Elwin made Keefe take another dose of headache medicine on page 566. That’s literally it. Just five elixirs.)

It really annoys me when I see people say “oh any ship between ninja/ninja is weird expect for Jaya” just because in the early season they would say things about being brothers or whatever.

Which yeah, I understand where they’re coming from, but it feels like people are taking it too seriously and literally. I have many points for this but one of the main ones is how it’s kind of falls under this issue a lot of people have with comprehending found family.

Found family’s aren’t literally adoptive family’s. It’s not like we have roles like the “mom” or the “dad” or the “cousin” etc. neither are the people literally related or legally bonded. It’s much better defined as friends coming together to form such a strong bond that they form a family. This is all based around love, care, devotion, etc. it’s like friend groups but take it next level, because there’s a much deeper connection than just “very good friends” it can be people of many different ages or all the same age. That is why, it’s annoying when people act as if shipping two characters that form part of a found family is wrong or weird. Because it’s not the same as a bio family or adoptive family, etc. it jusr isn’t and I’m tired of people misunderstanding found family.

When it comes to the ninja saying stuff like “we’re brothers” or “brother sharpens brother”, I already mentioned that I feel like people take it too literally. It’s pretty clear that they don’t LITERALLY see each other as “brothers”. I feel like it’s pretty common for close friend groups or even teams to call each other “brothers” or “sisters”. That doesn’t LITERALLY mean that they see each other as actual siblings and what not, but it’s more of a “bro” “friendship” etc, kinda way. Let me put it this way,

You got an all girl pop group that have been friends for a while and been performing together for years, resulting in a very close him with each other where they always have each others back through thick and thin and therefore, like to refer to themselves as “sisters” and blah blah blah. then one day it’s actually revealed one of them has a crush on another girl of the group! Would you say that’s weird and problematic?

Same applies for a sports team where it’s all men who go around saying “we’re all brothers here” “oh support you’re brother” etc etc, and actually turns out one of them two of them are gay and are dating. Would you say that’s weird and problematic?

It’s also the fact that they refer to each other as “friends” a lot of the time. Even in the early seasons where they said these “brotherhood” things more often, we had Jay and Cole referring to each other as “best friends”.

I also wanna make a point about jaya and Nya. Because how come? Are Jay and Nya not included? Well Jay is def included. But what about Nya? Is she not included? Is she somehow excluded from this found family or something? In this case, would the ninja not see her as part of them? I don’t get it? Is it because she’s a girl? Srs? And if you do consider her included, how come the love triangle in season 3 wasn’t considered weird in that aspect? If it included the possible pairing of Cole and Nya, shouldn’t we bash the show because “oh! She’s basically his sister as well!” You see what I mean here?

My point is that stop acting as if anyone who ships any ninja/ninja ships is some kind of weirdo and that it’s wrong. Because it’s not. (Btw this does not include any Lloyd/ninja ships because the soul reason Lloyd/ninja ships are wrong is because of the weird age gap going on)

Alright fuck it y’all are getting a drone post. I’m gonna spew my recent hyperfixation because it’s tumblr and where else would I. Anyway I don’t sincerely believe aliens are going to invade, but I collect conspiracy theories like baseball cards and I have no one else to talk about them to.

There are two objects we will be covering.

1. The drones (and briefly the drones)

2. The orbs

The orbs were spotted first almost over a year ago in Virginia, USA. Quickly forgotten about. The drone swarms have been happening in New Jersey USA for almost 3 months now, the police have gotten over 3,000 calls about them. Then there was an orb that appeared hovering feet off the runway at a uk air base. Then the drones came after. An orb appeared recently in New York I think, and then the drones appeared.

So here’s my theory. The drones are ours. They aren’t foreign tech. We shot the Chinese weather balloon down within a week, and it was…it was a fuckin balloon. Oooh scary. Ahem. For some reason, the USA is not revealing what these drones are. We (royal we) have said we don’t know what they are but ‘they aren’t a threat’. Of course, how the heck do we know *that* if we don’t know what they are? (Also pls note the USA is not a stranger to experimenting on their own communities of people so this could just be a really weird test)

Then there was a statement released a few days ago that the uap sightings had ‘included’ drones (military and civilian) and planes (military and civilian). But the included is really getting me. Okay, so those were in the list. WHAT ELSE WAS ON THE LIST what else is included??? The fast drones that pilots have seen over the ocean are from the secret alien facility in the ocean from that 4chan leak. (Kinda think it’s got some heft kinda don’t, anyway I don’t pay much mind to it but it’s a fun one)

Anyway. So yes, we aren’t shooting the drones down because they are ours and they are monitoring the orbs. Now, the orbs. Those bitches crazy! Fast, weirdly so. Able to incapacitate drones that fly within a specific radius of it, either shooting them up into the sky so they lose contact and plummet or they just catch on fire and plummet. And the USA/UK hasn’t shot the orbs down because they don’t want to anger the orbs owners, whether it’s aliens or another country (however my favorite theory is that we haven’t shot them down because we can’t. they can’t be destroyed). (Note: if the ocean lab *is* related then the tinier drones are the USA’s and the bigger, flat sedan-ish type drones are theirs but again, that feels like too much string connecting. Feel free to input your own opinion if you’ve made it this far you fucking champion and my new best friend. Anon is on if shy.

Also might be unrelated but we’ve had weird ufo/uap sightings every time nuclear material was lost (don’t fucking ask me how that happens I have no idea), and some was recently lost on the east coast of the states. But anyway I have no one to rant about this to.

and thats literally JUST talking about mei and it doesnt even begin to cover the other female characters. chang'e constantly gets reduced to being red sons aunt/mom/big sister despite them like. not having any actual interactions in the show. lady bone demon constantly gets overshadowed by her minion who has like 2 seconds of screen time, or she gets made into a cartoonishly abusive madwoman who people call lady bitch demon. just in general people act like shes a horrible person for like. being a villain. liks yeah the trying to destroy everything was bad but also she was an antagonist and thats what antagonists do LOL. spider queen gets completely ignored. princess iron fan gets made into a cartoonishly abusive mother so that way red son can have a poor angsty backstory and some male character (usually nezha, macaque, swk) can take care of him.

(also theres just a great deal of ethnocentrism in the lmk fanbase? like im white so take what İ say here with a grain of salt but so many people will misconstrue aspects of chinese culture for their own personal hcs. people will say male characters are transfem or nonbinary while completely ignoring the time period/culture their from where thats the norm. like yippee youve implied that an east asian man is feminine/emasculine because he has long hair. how do you not see the negative connotations with this. people also turn pif (& lbd to an extent) into a dragon lady which obviously has negative racial connotations lol.)
